That stuff has been around for 10 years or more. It’s not that interesting. WHOIS does substring matches instead of suffix matches.

Um, no. First off these are not subdomains. A subdomain goes to the LEFT of the domain, like news.google.com. These are other sites that have google.com as a subdomain of their own domain.

I could do the same thing my making the subdomain google.com.jwebnet.net

It’s not a hack. The interesting thing (or annoying, depending on how you feel) is that Verisign returns those results and makes it quite difficult to locate the WHOIS record for plain old google.com

Considering I knew about this years ago, it’s not a hack.
Google put them in there deliberately .
