I sent the link of my last post to a friend of mine in Hungary about Budapest, and he sent me another video.

[16:00:03] <Aadaam> so, not knowing that there’s a relatively small (2.5 million) city called budapest is a minor problem :) .
A very good point.

Budapest is the capital of what country?

If You P2P Download In France: No Internet For You

Filed Under (General) by Florian Jensen on 25-11-2007

France was one of the last countries in Europe abolishing the law against encryption (which is still prohibited in the US) and will now be the first country to abolish P2P?

France & InternetA pact between the French Government, French ISP’s and the local music and film industry will see French users who download material from P2P networks losing their internet access.

French internet users will face a three strikes and you’re out policy, according to the NY Times. Users will receive a warning for each illegal download before losing their service on the third infringement.

French president Nicolas Sarkozy endorsed the deal with rhetoric that is bound to win him an Honorary Life Membership of both the RIAA and MPAA: “We run the risk of witnessing a genuine destruction of culture…The Internet must not become a high-tech Far West, a lawless zone where outlaws can pillage works with abandon or, worse, trade in them in total impunity. And on whose backs? On artists’ backs.”

The Far West of where? Perhaps I’m mistaken in believing that the far East (ie China) is the global hotbed of Internet piracy…or did he mean the wild west? lost in translation perhaps.

An independent authority supervised by a judge will manage the scheme and decide if and when users should lose their internet access.

Not surprisingly the recording and music industry loves the move, with the head of the IFPI (the international recording industry body) John Kennedy telling the Times that “this is the single most important initiative to help win the war on online piracy that we have seen so far..President Sarkozy has shown leadership and vision. He has recognized the importance that the creative industries play in contemporary western economies.”

As many of you know, this describes me very well.  So I found the perfect Chart to solve that many problems that are linked in with it.

Real Estate Crash foreseen in Flanders for summer 2008

According to a confidential information of one of the members of the board of directors of a major belgian Bank, the crash of the shares of FORTIS is only the tip of the ice berg.

The vote of the Flemish parliament to separate BHV (= first step of the Flemish government to transform Brussels into the capital of Flanders) has disastrous consequences of foreign capital investors in Flanders. Foreign and especially American investors want political stability.

In the following months it is expected that no additional investments will be made in Flanders. Other investment decisions will be reviewed.

Rumors say that Dow Corning intend to leave Belgium for Paris; Glaxo-Smith-Kline is revising its decision to expand; Dupont is expected to review its investments in the port of Antwerp.

Many foreigners from the new member states have arrived in Brussels to work in the European institutions or in European lobby companies. These well paid foreigners are expected to buy flats and houses in the next months and years. The vote of the Flemish parliament is perceived by them as an unacceptable nationalistic act. For them the Flemish are the bad guys, and the French speaking are the victims. They will not want to live in regions and cities governed by nationalists. They don’t want to be associated with such political convictions. They will invest in Brussels and Wallonia.

According to the market analysts of the major bank conglomerate, the real estate market in Flanders will fall by 10 to 25% in the next few months. They strongly recommend that owners do not panic and sell, else the market could collapse in summer 2008.

FlorianJensen.com now with SSL!

Hey,

I just setup my SSL Certificate on this host, and updated my Wordpress to use it. It’s a really nice certificate. Especially, for 19.99€ / year a Class2 Certificate and an additional IP is a great deal.

Website SSL1Not alot has changed at first sight. There is a new logo, but when you take a closer look, you will see that there is a Lock at the top, and the adressbar is yellow. Then there is also a lock at the bottom right. Both these locks indicate that the site is completely secure.

Website SSL2When you click on the lock, you get this information window, which states that the Website is secure and that it is a high-grade encryption. Only the best for my visitors! :)

Website SSL3The last window simply shows you all the information about the site owner, me!

As FlorianJensen.com now has an Exclusive IP, new site features will be available soon. The Store is currently being redone, but once it is ready, it will have alot of new features. Personally I encourage every site admin to get an SSL Certificate, as it is simply more secure, and you wouldn’t want to have your Network Administrator to see what you do. :) That is why I even use an OpenVPN Connection when I am in public places. A good example is MSN. With a small tool like Wireshark, you can very easially capture all the data which is sent by MSN on the network. As this traffic is unencrypted, there is no problem for third-parties to read it. So use Jabber!
